An Odd Occurence

I've mentioned before that my fiancee "tolerates" my particular weirdness, up to a point. She absolutely won't be seen in public with me, while I'm wearing anything even semi-feminine. Years ago, we made an agreement, that I could wear whatever I want in the house, but under no condition would I wear anything feminine outside in the area where we live.

Every now and then, I have occasion to leave the house while she's home, and in those cases, I'm usually wearing some manner of dress and nylons, which I will cover with "man" clothes before leaving the house. Of course, I'll be stripped back down to my dress before I even get into the car, but the illusion that she chooses to believe is that I am wearing "man" clothes over my dress while I'm out.

Tonight, as we sat on the couch talking, me wearing a blue LulaRoe Nichole dress and a lovely pair of Snag 30-denier tights, I told her that I was going to run out and pick up an item from Facebook Marketplace. I asked her if she'd like me to bring something back for her. She wanted Wendy's for dinner, which is only a couple miles from where I was headed anyway.

So I threw a hoodie  on over my dress, grabbed my keys, and headed for the door.

Normally, she would have already said something about the way I'm dressed. This time, not a peep.

I went out, picked up my Marketplace item, went to Wendy's (inside), picked up her food, then drove home. At no point did I even attempt to cover the lower half of my body, in my obvious dress and feminine legwear.

The trip was a piece of cake, and everything went very smoothly, as it usually does (I've gone out in femme attire literally hundreds of times), and I returned home. When I got home, my fiancee was unhappy, but not with me. She couldn't find a top she was looking for, hence her dismay, but not a word was said about my outfit.

I can't say if this is a new direction for her, or if she was just tired from work and didn't notice that I was walking out the door in a dress. I suppose all I can do is gently test this boundary again in the future, to gauge her reaction.
